Drs. Gerrit Jan Gerritsma, born in 1962, studied from 1981 to 1989 at Maastricht State University gaining his doctors' diploma in March 1989.

He received his basic training in Maharishi Ayurveda from May to June 1989. He learnt the principles of determining constitutional type, pulse diagnosis, doshas, diet, chronobiology, phytotherapy, rasayanas and purification treatments under the guidance of Dr. Sten

From 1989 to 1992 he practised at the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre in Laag Soeren, Holland.

In September 1989 and September 1990 he attended an advanced course in pulse diagnosis with Dr. Raju.

1992 to 1993 he studied in the Netherlands for the ABNG, a course in Natural Health for doctors. He had a private practice for Maharishi Ayurveda in Lelystadt, Holland and taught at the School of Healing in Meppel, Holland.

In June 1993 he graduated in Psychiatry and Maharishi Ayurveda under the tutelage of Dr. Balaraman in Kerala, India.

1993 to present time. Employed by the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre Bad Ems. In addition he regularly assists Ayurvedic experts from India.

Since 2000 he has frequently worked and received further training in Maharishi Ayurveda from experts such as: - Dr. Jayamuna Raju, Astavaidya Moos, Astavaidya Nambi, Dr. H. Garge, Dr. Shinde and Professor Ranga Rao.

In November 199 he attended a doctors course with Dr. Moos, Astavaidya, Kerala, India.
