Panchakarma - the central aspect of our therapy
The Sanskrit word Panchakarma means five actions (pancha = five; karma = action). These are five broad groups of different physical procedures of Ayurveda. The effects of the individual therapies systematically build on and complement each other.

This achieves a long-term and extremely profound purification of the body. The steps of treatment described below systematically eliminate toxins and harmful substances from the body. These have accumulated as a result of improper lifestyle, environmental toxins and wrong thinking. Health improves as a whole and in the case of chronic disorders this frequently leads to relief from the actual complaints. For healthy people, there is a clear increase in zest, vitality, and performance.

The classical texts of Ayurveda, in their written form, are almost 3,000 years old. However, all the various aspects of Vedic knowledge have been passed down orally over thousands of years, making Ayurveda older than any other medical science.

Your personal treatment programme
The most important factor in planning your treatment is your own individual situation and health requirements. After a comprehensive Ayurvedic examination, your personal treatment programme is planned according to your constitutional type and any health problems you may have. Then the Panchakarma itself begins, in a series of sequential steps:

First step

Easily digestible medicinal oils are applied internally or externally. These stimulate the digestion and the whole metabolism. Internally, for example, one takes clarified butter (ghee) or other substances. These reach the cells via the digestive process. A similar process takes place via the skin by externally pouring oil on the body or using full-body oil massages. Carefully selected substances gently and effectively dislodge from the cells the accumulated fat-soluble metabolic waste products and environmental toxins.

Second step
Now it is time to make sure that the previously dislodged toxins and waste products are actually flushed out of the tissues. By applying heat in the form of herbal steam baths, hot compresses etc., metabolic activity is increased and the subtle blood and lymph vessels dilate. In this way the toxins are able to leave the cells and are flushed into the intestinal tract.

Third step

It is then necessary to make sure that the already dislodged toxins really leave the body. Comfortable, gently purgative enemas cleanse the intestinal tract. In this way the waste products are effectively removed from the system.

Ayurvedic preparations and the application of precious oils
The success of your treatment can be enhanced with individually prescribed Ayurvedic herbal and mineral preparations. For the massages we individually prepare the oil, for each patient, using selected herbal essences and other high-quality ingredients and nourishing oils in our own Panchakarma kitchen, Through the massage the oils penetrate deep into the skin and strengthen the tissues beneath.
