When
is a non-residential consultation recommended?
In
many instances a doctor can make recommendations for you to follow
at home to achieve specific improvements in mental and physical
health.
This
is an alternative when there is not enough time available for Panchakarma
treatment, yet a speedy improvement in health is desired.
A
consultation is also ideal before beginning Panchakarma treatment.
It enables you to better prepare for the treatment and thereby experience
increased benefits.
Panchakarma
is not recommended when there is acute inflammation, such as an
arthritic inflammation or pronounced bodily weakness. In such cases
it is preferable to first have a non-residential consultation so
that with the pre-treatment at home the inflammation or weakness
can be reduced before starting with the Panchakarma treatment.
Schedule
for a non-residential consultation
An
initial consultation takes one hour. Please telephone in advance
to make an appointment.
During the consultation
one of our Ayurvedic doctors examines you and assesses your current
state of health. To ensure that the consultation is as informative
as possible, we ask you to fill out and return to us in advance
a questionnaire. We have three registered medical
doctors in our clinic who have
all had thorough additional training in the procedures of Maharishi
Ayurveda.
The
doctor uses pulse diagnosis to assess any imbalance in your doshas.
The doshas are the individual aspects of intelligence that operate
in the mind and body. Imbalance in their functioning is the
cause of illness. During the second part of the consultation the
doctor will plan with you a suitable diet to follow at home. Appropriate
Maharishi Ayurvedic herbal food supplements will be chosen for your
condition, and exercises for your body type will be recommended, along
with yoga and meditation. Suggestions for daily routine and lifestyle
are also part of this first consultation.
Payment
by health insurance
The
charge for the doctor's consultation is calculated in accordance
with German regulations.
For
German residents payment for the consultation with the doctor is
refunded by most of the private insurance companies, but not from
the Government insurance scheme.
You
should contact your health insurance company to enquire about reimbursement
of any payment for consultation or treatment made to our clinic.
