A greeting from the Mayor

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen

May I welcome you all very warmly here in Bad Ems. We are very pleased that you are visiting us, especially now, at a time when all health resorts are experiencing problems. At a time when we have had to say goodbye to many things we have long held dear, it is something to rejoice at and feel hopeful about when we find an establishment like the Maharishi Ayurveda Centre that is able to develop so positively in an on-going manner. The Health and Seminar Centre has been making steady upward progress throughout the past nine years.

From many publications and surveys it is clear that a large majority of our population feels a great affinity towards natural medicine. Ayurveda -- health care that is close to Nature -- could become something very significant for the future of our town. As a centuries-old health resort we are turning increasingly towards those approaches for health that Nature gives us, such as our hot springs. Ayurveda, 'the science of long life', which represents thousands of years of experience of an ancient culture and which is now being applied side by side with modern medicine, inspires us all to give central importance to the wholeness of man. The result is a marked increase in achievement and happiness.

Nestling in beautiful rural surroundings between Westerwald and Taunus and in the historic town, the Bad Ems Kurhotel will give you the peace and rest necessary to improve your health and well being. But also from a cultural perspective you will find that Bad Ems has much to offer. The annual Jacques Offenbach Festival - which has now been running for ten years - is well known far beyond the confines of our city. The Bartholomew Market too, which has Germany's largest flower pageant, attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year to Bad Ems from near and far, on the last Sunday in August.

With the Maharishi Ayurveda Health and Seminar Centre, we have in our midst an establishment that is enjoying wide recognition and acceptance. Specialist journalists and doctors are finding out about it for themselves on the spot, time and time again, and the form of therapy that is practised here is enjoying steadily increasing popularity. The team, led by medical director Dr Karin Pirc and managing director Mr Lothar Pirc, will look after you in a professional and competent manner. Why not therefore decide for a stay in Bad Ems, at our Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre? You will be in good hands here.

We look forward to your visit!
